Pest and Building Inspection
A Prior to Purchase Specialist Timber Pest Inspections along with a Pre-purchase Building Inspection is typically referred to as a Pest and Building Inspection or a Pre-Purchase Property Inspection.
The Pest and Building Inspection consists of two parts, a Timber Pest Inspection carried out by one of Surekil’s qualified technician's and a Building Inspection carried out by one of our recommended, independent, qualified and insured Building Inspectors.
Timber Pest Inspection
The Timber Pest Inspection is carried out in accordance with the AEPMA'S Code of Practice For Prior to Purchase Specialist Timber Pest Inspections and AS 4349.3-2010 Inspection of buildings Part 3: Timber pest inspections.
A Timber Pest Inspection is a comprehensive inspection of a property's timber structures for damage by fungal decay (rot), wood-boring insects, subterranean termites or other timber pests. This inspection can also be carried out prior to sale to ensure that there are no previous or present pests.
The Timber Pest Inspection on a property assesses:
- Evidence of timber pests.
- Existence off visually observable damage caused by timber pests.
- Susceptibility of building to timber pests.
- Further investigations required.
Following your inspection a Timber Pest Inspection Report will be emailed to you as a PDF.
Pre-Purchase Building Inspection Report
A pre-purchase building inspection is a visual appraisal of the condition of a property highlighting existing defects or areas of concern, carried out in accordance with Australian Standard 4349.1 2007 'Inspection of Buildings-Pre purchase property Inspections-Residential buildings'.

- Reports on the site and fences
- Estimates given for rectification work
- Thorough inspection of accessible areas of building & yard
